The Tobago Harvest Festival is a traditional cultural and religious celebration in Tobago that centers on giving thanks, community, and sharing food.

What it is
It started as a Christian thanksgiving tradition where people thank God for the harvest (crops, food, blessings)
Today, it has grown into a village-wide celebration held throughout the year in different communities

What happens at Harvest
Massive community cook-ups (think big pots of local food like stews, fish, rice, callaloo)
People go house to house, eating and socializing
Everyone is welcome — locals, visitors, strangers
Churches often play a role, especially in the morning, followed by food and festivities

What makes it special
It’s about sharing, not selling — food is usually given freely
Brings together families, neighbors, and entire villages
Strong focus on unity, generosity, and culture

When it happens
Different villages host their own Harvest on different weekends throughout the year
